Temporary road closures are in place in the Ballyvolane area as resurfacing works continue on the Ballyvolane Strategic Transport Corridor. Cork City Council says the project remains on track for completion by end of year.

Two sections of road are affected, with works taking place on the North Ring Road and Ballyvolane Road over the coming weeks.

North Ring Road: Riverview Estate to Applegreen

Overnight resurfacing works are under way on the North Ring Road between Riverview Estate and Applegreen, running nightly from 7pm to 6am from Monday 22 to Friday 26 June. A daytime closure is also scheduled for Friday 3 July, from 9:30am to 9:30pm. A STOP/GO system is in operation, with local, pedestrian, and cycling access maintained. Diversions are in place.

Ballyvolane Road (Clonard to Fox & Hounds) and North Ring Road Tie-in

Resurfacing works on Ballyvolane Road between Clonard and the Fox & Hounds junction, along with the North Ring Road tie-in, are scheduled from Monday 29 June to Friday 3 July, between 9:30am and 9:30pm. Local, pedestrian, and cycling access will be maintained, with diversions in place.
