Malloween Returns to Mallow Castle with Free Haunted Walk
Malloween returns to Mallow Castle on Bank Holiday Monday, 26 October, with a free Haunted Walk from 4pm to 7pm.
Families across Cork are invited to spend Bank Holiday Monday afternoon in spooky style, as Malloween returns to Mallow Castle on 26 October 2026. Cork County Council is inviting families to a free Haunted Walk in the castle grounds from 4pm to 7pm.
The Mallow Castle Haunted Walk will turn the historic grounds into a Halloween wonderland, complete with creepy decorations, mysterious encounters and live actors. Visitors will be taken on a guided journey through the castle grounds, with surprises waiting around every corner.
Costumes are encouraged, so now is the time to dust off the witch’s hat or the vampire cape. The family-friendly event also showcases one of North Cork’s most iconic heritage sites, and Malloween has become a much-anticipated fixture in the local events calendar.
Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Bernard Moynihan:
“Malloween is a fantastic community event that brings families together to enjoy Halloween in the unique surroundings of Mallow Castle. It offers a wonderful opportunity for children and adults alike to experience this historic site in a fun and imaginative way. I would encourage families from across Cork to come along, dress up, and enjoy what promises to be a memorable evening of entertainment.”
An Autism-Friendly Hour will run from 4pm to 5pm. During this time, background music will be switched off, and actors will only engage with visitors if approached, ensuring a more relaxed and inclusive experience. The Haunted Walk is also suitable for wheelchairs and buggies.
Admission is free and no booking is required. Free parking is available in Cork County Council car parks in Mallow Town.
