Revenue Seizes Over €246,000 in Contraband During Dublin, Midlands and Rosslare Europort Operations
Drug parcels from India, the UK, France, Canada and the USA were among €246,000 in contraband seized by Revenue last week, destined for addresses nationwide.
Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €246,000 following a series of risk profiling and intelligence led operations in Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort during the week commencing 15 June 2026.
The detections included over 25,130 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of over €101,400, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €47,700, and 4.8kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of over €95,400.
Further seizures included 90 counterfeit items with an estimated value of €27,600, tobacco products with an estimated value of €11,200 representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of almost €8,600, 2,777 various tablets with an estimated value of over €5,500, and various illicit drugs with an estimated value of over €4,500.
Included in the alcohol seizures was approximately 25,056 litres of alcohol seized at Rosslare Europort on 17 June 2026 as a result of routine profiling. The alcohol, branded Karpackie and Kestrel and consisting of wine, spirits, and beer, has an estimated retail value of over €99,900 and represents a potential loss to the Exchequer of more than €46,700. It was discovered in an accompanied trailer that had disembarked a ferry from Dunkirk, France. Both the alcohol and the trailer were seized.
The illicit drugs seizures were made as a result of risk profiling with assistance of detector dogs Ciara, Mollaidh and Sam. Parcels originated from India, the UK, France, Canada and the USA, and were destined for various addresses nationwide.
The various illicit drugs consisted of edibles, cannabinoid vape liquids, reefers, cannabis oil, cannabis resin, psilocybin chocolate bars, psilocybin white truffles, N-ethylhexedrone hydrochloride, 4-HO-MIPT, AMT, LSD, 5-MEO-DMT Freebase, 0-PCE and 2F-NENDCK HCL. The various tablets consisted of Tapentadol, Zopiclone and Benzodiazepine.
The tobacco products were branded I Score 7, Puelo, Amberleaf, Marlboro, John Player Blue, Kent Core, Winston Blue Slim Line and Kent Mode Galaxy.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights. The counterfeit goods were branded Apple, Nike, On Cloud, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Canada Goose, Christian Dior, Adidas, Umbro, Under Armour, Ralph Lauren, Rayban and Asics. Eight weapons accessories were also seized, consisting of a rifle magazine, switchblade flickknife and Red Parachute hand flares.
These seizures were in addition to a joint operation resulting in a drug seizure valued at approximately €100,000 on 15 June 2026, and Revenue's seizure of herbal cannabis worth over €615,000 at Dublin Airport on 17 June 2026.
