Gardaí Outline Safety Plans Ahead of West Cork Rally Weekend
Gardaí confirm additional patrols and ANPR in use for West Cork Rally this weekend, with zero tolerance for dangerous driving.
Gardaí in Cork have confirmed that additional policing measures will be in place for the West Cork Rally, which takes place from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th March.
An Garda Síochána will work alongside rally organisers throughout the weekend to ensure the event runs safely for competitors, spectators, and local residents alike. Additional Garda patrols will be deployed across the rally stages and surrounding areas.
ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) technology will also be in use over the course of the weekend, with Gardaí operating a zero tolerance approach to dangerous driving and anti-social behaviour.
Members of the public travelling to and from rally stages are asked to drive responsibly, respect local communities, and follow all Garda directions.
The West Cork Rally is one of the most popular events on the motorsport calendar, drawing large crowds to the region each year.
