Could Cork Have Ireland's Best Public Loo? SuperLoo Competition Returns
Dyno-Rod is searching for Ireland's best public loo. Cork businesses can enter the SuperLoo 2026 competition before the 17 July deadline.
Dyno-Rod has relaunched its SuperLoo competition, calling on businesses across Ireland to nominate their facilities for the title of the country's finest publicly usable toilet. The closing date for entries is Friday, 17 July 2026.
Businesses of every size and type are invited to submit their facilities at superloo.ie, with adjudicators reviewing all applications before shortlisting ten entries. Those ten finalists will then go to a public vote to decide the 2026 SuperLoo champion.
The competition first ran in 1992, with the Slieve Russell Hotel in Cavan claiming the original crown. The hotel famously celebrated by hosting a Dyno-Rod dinner party inside its award-winning bathroom to prove just how spotless and luxurious the facilities were. Now, more than three decades later, the search is on again.
This is not a competition reserved for high-end hotels. From cafés and cinemas to garages, libraries and offices, any business with a publicly usable facility is eligible to enter. Entries will be judged across a range of criteria including cleanliness, comfort, accessibility, style and character, ventilation, hygiene products, hand drying facilities, toilet paper provision, and the overall customer experience.
Peter Crowley, Chairman and founder of Dyno-Rod, who initiated the original SuperLoo competition in the 1990s, said:
"At Dyno-Rod, we believe toilets are one of the great unspoken yardsticks of customer experience. A good loo tells people your business cares. A bad one tells them you don't. SuperLoo was created to celebrate the businesses across Ireland that take genuine pride in maintaining clean, comfortable, accessible and well-kept public facilities. For decades, Dyno-Rod has worked behind the scenes helping businesses maintain the facilities their customers rely on every single day. SuperLoo is a chance for businesses to showcase their standards at a national level."
Cork businesses keen to put their facilities to the test can enter at superloo.ie before the closing date of Friday, 17 July 2026.
