A new indoor sports and wellness facility is set to open on Monahan Road this week following a €2.27 million investment from Quintas Capital.

The Hive will become Cork City's first fully indoor padel centre when it opens its doors on 17 December, transforming a 19,000 square foot warehouse into a five-court facility with wellness spaces, recovery rooms, social areas, a café and retail space.

The investment, which closed in September, marks the final deployment from Quintas Capital's 2024 EIIS Fund, in which the firm invested just under €8 million. Padel, a fast-growing sport across Europe, has seen rising demand in Ireland, and The Hive aims to meet this appetite locally with a high-quality indoor facility for players of all levels.

Kevin Canning, CEO of Quintas Capital, said:

"We believe The Hive is more than a venue, it's a long-term investment in Cork's community and lifestyle. Our €2.27 million injection reflects our confidence in the management team's vision and in the growth potential of padel and wellness-led leisure in Cork and beyond."

Rory Dennis of The Hive added:

"Our goal has always been to bring something unique to Cork, a place where people can move, connect and belong. With this backing from Quintas Capital, we're now confident we can deliver a facility that sets a new standard for sport, wellness and social life in the city."

Quintas Capital has confirmed that its 2025 EIIS Fund is on track to surpass €12 million and will close to new investor applications once it reaches €15 million.

Bookings for The Hive will be available via its dedicated app and website from the opening date.
