Traffic and Parking Restrictions to Begin on 7 October Ahead of Red Bull Homerun
Red Bull Homerun on 10 October: South Mall parking and Lapp's Quay restrictions from 7 October, Anglesea Street parking from 8 October.
Parking and road restrictions will begin in Cork City Centre from Wednesday 7 October ahead of Red Bull Homerun, which takes place on Saturday 10 October 2026. The event will bring a 90-minute motorsport show to South Mall and Anglesea Street.
Parking on South Mall will be unavailable from 7:00pm on Wednesday 7 October, and restrictions on Lapp's Quay begin at the same time. From 7:00pm on Thursday 8 October, parking on Anglesea Street will be unavailable and Lapp's Quay will be fully closed. Lapp's Quay is due to reopen at 12:00pm on Sunday 11 October.
On event day, South Mall and Anglesea Street will be closed from 2:00pm on Saturday 10 October until 6:00am on Sunday 11 October. Parnell Bridge, Parnell Place and Terence MacSwiney Quay will be closed from 6:00pm until 10:00pm on Saturday 10 October.
Access to Union Quay will be maintained for residents and businesses on Saturday 10 October from the Copley Street side only. Parking on South Mall and Anglesea Street will resume as normal from 6:00am on Sunday 11 October.
The show runs from 8pm to 9:30pm and features Cork's multiple Drift Masters Champion Conor Shanahan, the Oracle Red Bull Racing RB7 F1 car and top local motorsport stars. It is a ticketed, family-focused and alcohol-free event.
The event has been planned in coordination with Cork City Council, An Garda Síochána, Cork City Fire Brigade and FreeFlow Traffic Management. Organisers say they will endeavour to keep disruption to a minimum.
