Tesco has recalled Tesco Finest Scottish Cherrywood Smoked Salmon (100g) over Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has issued a recall notice for Tesco Finest Scottish Cherrywood Smoked Salmon (100g) due to the presence of Listeria monocytogenes.

Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale in Tesco stores. The product's country of origin is listed as Ireland.

The affected batches carry the codes 1SHK6146S, 2SHK6146S, 3SHK6146S, 4SHK6146S, 5SHK6146S and 6SHK6146S. The FSAI notice lists use-by dates spanning 2 July 2026 to 19 July 2026 across these batches. Customers are advised to check the batch code and use-by date on their own pack against the notice displayed in-store.

In healthy people, symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes infection can include mild flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. In people who are more vulnerable, the infection can be severe and can lead to serious complications. People who are more vulnerable to Listeria monocytogenes infections include pregnant women, infants, older adults and people with weakened immune systems.

The incubation period, the time between initial infection and first symptoms appearing, is on average three weeks but can range between three and 70 days.

Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batches from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale. Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batches.
