Chart Watch

Chart guidance was checked at 09:39 IST on 18 July 2026 using WXCharts and Met Éireann's Munster forecast. This chart analysis is secondary corroboration only; Met Éireann's official figures above remain the governing forecast for Cork. The official ECMWF chart browser was unavailable at the time of checking, returning a "Product is currently unavailable" message, so the ECMWF HRES analysis instead draws on WXCharts' most recent complete cycle, Friday 17 July at 12Z. The GFS analysis uses the Saturday 18 July 00Z run.

Both models point to a dry, sunny Saturday, with temperatures in Cork City reaching roughly 22 to 25 degrees in the afternoon and northerly winds of 15 to 22 km/h, gusting 25 to 30 km/h. Isolated mist could reduce visibility below 5 km after dark. Confidence is high, though GFS shows stronger morning gusts and Met Éireann's regional maximum runs 1 to 3 degrees higher than the point guidance.

Sunday is expected to bring hazy sunshine with similar warmth, Cork City again reaching around 22 to 25 degrees, as an Atlantic high strengthens to roughly 1026 to 1028 hPa. Both models show rainfall close to 0 mm and light northerly winds. Confidence is high, with ECMWF HRES and GFS closely aligned.

Looking further ahead, Monday 20 July is also trending dry with variable cloud and sunny spells, with temperatures of 21 to 24 degrees. Confidence is high for dry conditions, though moderate for temperature and cloud, as GFS trends 2 to 3 degrees warmer than ECMWF HRES later in the day. This extends beyond the confirmed Met Éireann text supplied and should be treated as indicative chart guidance only.
