Santa officially switched on the Christmas lights at the Lough this evening, with families gathering to mark the start of Cork's festive season.
The crib, installed by Cork City Council Parks Department and Electrical Team, will be illuminated every evening until 6 January, forming an integral part of the city's Christmas festivities.

The event featured live singing, mince pies, and an appearance from Santa as the lights were switched on at 7pm.
The Lough's festive display is part of Cork City Council's 'Corkmas' programme, bringing seasonal cheer to one of the city's most popular green spaces throughout December and into the New Year.
