New Trees Planted On Patrick Street As Greening Works Continue

The first of two new planters on Patrick Street has now been filled with trees, with a second due outside the Savoy in the coming days, Cork City Council has said.

Cork City Council confirmed that the planter outside Brown Thomas has been planted with trees, adding to the greenery along the street.

Cork City Council said in a social media post:

"Over the coming days, additional planting will take place, and a second planter with trees and plants will be installed outside the Savoy. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we complete these works."

The work forms part of the council's wider greening and decluttering pilot scheme for Patrick Street, funded by the National Transport Authority, covering the plazas outside Brown Thomas and Dunnes Stores. According to details published on Cork City Council's website, the pilot is due to run for between 12 and 18 months.
