Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage after a serious hit and run collision involving a moped and a grey Skoda estate car in Blackpool.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious hit and run road traffic collision involving a moped and a grey Skoda estate car in Blackpool, Cork City this evening.

The collision occurred on the North City Link Road at the junction of Thomas Davis Bridge at approximately 5:30pm on Friday, 07 August 2026.

The driver of the moped was removed from the scene to Cork University Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment for serious injuries.

Gardaí have confirmed that the driver of the grey Skoda estate car failed to remain at the scene following the collision.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to come forward. Road users who were travelling in the Blackpool area between 4:30pm and 6:00pm, and who may have camera footage including dash-cam recordings, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
