Met Éireann Updates Yellow High Temperature Warning for Cork, Extends Alert into Midweek
Yellow High Temperature warning extended to Wednesday for Cork, Galway, Kerry, Limerick and Mayo, with temperatures in excess of 27°C forecast.
Met Éireann has updated its Yellow High Temperature warning for Cork and nine other counties, and has issued a further warning extending the elevated temperatures into Wednesday for five counties.
The original warning, issued on Saturday, 11 July 2026, was updated at 10:41 on Sunday, 12 July 2026. It remains in effect from 13:00 on Sunday, 12 July 2026 until 07:00 on Monday, 13 July 2026, and continues to apply to Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Laois, Limerick, Mayo, Offaly, and Tipperary.
A further Yellow High Temperature warning has also been issued, effective from 13:00 on Monday, 13 July 2026 until 07:00 on Wednesday, 15 July 2026. This second warning covers five counties: Cork, Galway, Kerry, Limerick, and Mayo.
Both warnings forecast maximum temperatures in excess of 27°C, combined with overnight minimum temperatures in excess of 15°C.
Met Éireann has identified potential impacts including water safety issues due to increased use of lakes, beaches and waterways, uncomfortable sleeping conditions, heat stress, forest fires, and drought.
