Met Éireann Issues High Temperature Warning and Advisory Nationwide
Met Éireann has issued a Yellow High Temperature warning for all 26 counties from Tuesday 23 June to Friday 26 June. Max temperatures above 27°C expected.
Met Éireann has issued a High Temperature Advisory and a Yellow High Temperature Warning covering all 26 counties, as an extended period of exceptionally warm weather is forecast across Ireland.
The advisory, issued at 10:45 on Monday, 22 June 2026, takes effect from 12:00 on Monday, 22 June 2026 and runs until 10:00 on Thursday, 25 June 2026. The Yellow High Temperature Warning, issued at 09:30 on Monday, 22 June 2026, takes effect from 12:00 on Tuesday, 23 June 2026 and expires at 09:00 on Friday, 26 June 2026.
Met Éireann advises that daytime temperatures will exceed 25 degrees, with temperatures possibly reaching 30 degrees on Thursday. Night-time conditions are forecast to be very mild, humid and possibly uncomfortable, with temperatures generally staying above 15 degrees. Thunderstorms are also possible, particularly on Thursday.
The Yellow Warning separately forecasts maximum temperatures in excess of 27°C, combined with night-time minima in excess of 15°C.

Potential impacts across both alerts include water safety issues due to increased use of lakes and beaches, uncomfortable sleeping conditions, and heat stress.
Both alerts cover Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leitrim, Laois, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath, Wexford, and Wicklow.
