Status Yellow Rain Warning Issued for Cork as Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms Possible
Localised flooding, outdoor events impacted, difficult travelling conditions.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning for Cork, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford, with spells of heavy rain and a possibility of thunderstorms forecast.
The warning is valid from 12:00 on Thursday 27 August 2026 until 03:00 on Friday 28 August 2026. Met Éireann issued the warning at 16:01 on Wednesday 26 August 2026.
Met Éireann has warned of localised flooding, outdoor events impacted, and difficult travelling conditions during the warning period.
It is the first rain warning for Cork since a Status Yellow alert covering the county in mid-June 2026, with an unusually dry and sunny July in between.
