Met Éireann has issued an updated advisory confirming that the current spell of very warm or hot weather will continue this week. Daytime maxima will widely exceed 25 degrees, with values reaching the high 20s and possibly 30 degrees in places. The UV Index is expected to be high to very high, and warm and humid nights will occur, with minima of 15 degrees or higher.

The advisory was first issued on 6 July 2026 at 3.17pm and updated on 14 July 2026 at 9.18am. Met Éireann has also flagged the chance of heavy showers or isolated thunderstorms on Wednesday, though these will be localised if they occur.

The advisory applies nationwide, covering all 26 counties including Cork, and is due to expire at 6am on Saturday 18 July 2026.
