Gardaí attended the scene of a serious assault in Blackpool, Cork city, on the evening of Sunday 12 July 2026. A male youth was taken from the scene to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.

In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said:

"Gardaí attended the scene of a serious assault in Blackpool, Cork city this evening Sunday 12th July, 2026.

A male youth was removed from the scene to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.

Investigations ongoing."
