Cork County Council's Beach Lifeguards at Barleycove took part in a multi-agency training exercise last week, designed to strengthen collaboration and emergency response procedures along the coast.

The council said the exercise gave lifeguards a valuable opportunity to train alongside colleagues from the Goleen Coast Guard Unit, with both teams sharing knowledge, experience, and best practice in a coastal rescue environment.

Cork County Council thanked all the lifeguards involved, along with everyone who contributed to what it described as a successful training day.
