An Garda Síochána has issued detailed traffic management arrangements for the Munster Senior Hurling Championship match between Cork and Clare at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday 24 May 2026, with a full-capacity attendance of around 41,000 expected.

A series of road closures, parking restrictions, and public transport diversions will be in place around the stadium throughout the day.

Road Closures

From 9am, Ardfoyle Avenue, Park Avenue, and Maryville/Blackrock Road will be closed with access for residents only. Monahan's Road/Marquee Road and Centre Park Road/Marquee Road will also close from 9am. All of these closures will reopen at approximately 6pm.

From 11am, further closures take effect at Boreenmanna Road/Churchyard Lane (access for residents only), Blackrock Road/Churchyard Lane (access for residents only), Boreenmanna Road/Crab Lane (access for residents only), Blackrock Road/Crab Lane (no entry), Centre Park Road at Victoria Road Roundabout, and Monahan Road at Victoria Road Junction (Circle-K). These also reopen at approximately 6pm.

Gardaí have asked drivers to be mindful of the large volumes of pedestrians that may be exiting the stadium on the road between 5pm and 6pm. Pedestrians will be given priority after the match, with vehicular traffic initially held for pedestrian safety.

Walking Routes to the Stadium

The stadium can be accessed on foot from the city centre via Centre Park Road and Monahan Road, a 15 minute walk, or by use of cycle lanes for cyclists. From the Boreenmanna Road, supporters can walk via Churchyard Lane, Blackrock Road and Maryville, a 10 minute walk.

Public Transport

The 202 Holyhill to Mahon Point route departs Merchant's Quay approximately every 20 minutes, travelling via Blackrock Road with stops in Ballintemple, a 2 minute walk to the stadium via Maryville.

The 212 Kent Station to Mahon Point route departs Kent Station every hour on the half hour and will divert via Blackrock Road with a stop across from Longboats Pub, a 2 minute walk to the stadium via Maryville.

Both the 202 and 212 routes serve SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh, with stops at Ballintemple on Blackrock Road, near the Venue Bar and Longboats Bar.

Travelling by Car

Motorists travelling from the west are advised to use the South Ring Road (N40), take the Mahon/Blackrock exit (Junction 10), then turn left onto Skehard Road toward Boreenmanna Road. Gardaí have asked drivers to utilise legal and available parking in the area, being respectful of local residential and business needs.

Those travelling from the north should use the North Ring Road (N20). Gardaí recommend that patrons park within the city centre and walk to the stadium, or use public transport from there.

Travelling from the east, motorists should use the Jack Lynch Tunnel (N40), take the Mahon/Blackrock exit (Junction 10), then turn left onto Skehard Road toward Boreenmanna Road. Drivers are again asked to utilise legal and available parking in the area, being respectful of local residential and business needs.

Patrons might also consider utilising train and bus links from Midleton, Glounthaune, and Little Island, where there is free parking available.

Parking

Parking will be available in city centre car parks. There is very limited parking in the areas adjacent to the stadium, and there is no dedicated parking at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh. Some car parks in the city centre are open and within easy walking distance of the stadium. Vehicles parked illegally will be dealt with by Gardaí.

Gardaí have advised motorists not to block entrances to housing estates, business premises, or parks, not to block or park on footpaths, not to park in disabled spaces or bus stops, and not to park in any area which may restrict access for emergency services.

Drop-Off Points

The drop-off area for taxis is on the Marquee Road / Monahan Road Junction up to 3:00pm. All other large public service vehicles are to set down and pick up on the Boreenmanna Road, near the Maxol filling station.

Coaches and buses are advised to park on the Boreenmanna Road faced for the South City Link Road for after-event egress.

After the Match

Following the match, Gardaí have asked everyone to follow the direction of Gardaí and stewards. Clare and North/East Cork supporters are strongly advised to use the Jack Lynch Tunnel for travel home.

There will be limited traffic allowed through the city, with priority given to dispersal of traffic to main arteries heading away from the city. This is a full capacity event with an expected attendance in the region of 41,000, and Gardaí have asked for patience when leaving the stadium and its environs.
