Gardaí Appeal for Witnesses Following Fatal Road Traffic Incident at Little Island
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a male pedestrian in his late teens died following a road traffic incident at Little Island on Friday evening.
A male pedestrian in his late teens has died following a road traffic incident at Little Island, and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Gardaí have confirmed that the incident occurred at Little Island, Cork on Friday evening, 17th April 2026. A report was received that a pedestrian had been struck by a car, and Gardaí attended at approximately 11:50pm.
The pedestrian, a male aged in his late teens, was taken from the scene to Cork University Hospital. He has since been declared deceased.
Forensic Collision investigators attended the scene of the incident and an examination took place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and were travelling in the area between 11:00pm and midnight on Friday 17th April 2026, are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
