Gardaí have issued an appeal for anyone who believes they were a victim of a criminal act relating to the Presbyterian Church in Ireland to come forward.

An Garda Síochána is inviting anyone resident in this jurisdiction who believes they were a victim of a criminal act relating to the Presbyterian Church in Ireland to come forward and make contact.

Reports can be made at a local Garda station or directly to the Garda National Protective Services Bureau, and all contacts will be handled with sensitivity and empathy.

Those wishing to report can do so through any of the following channels:

  1. By emailing GNPSB_SCMU@garda.ie
  2. By phoning the Sexual Crime Management Unit on (01) 666 3430 or (01) 666 3435
  3. By phoning the Garda Child Sexual Abuse Reporting Line on 1800 555 222, a confidential and free service available 24/7
  4. By calling to a local Garda station

An Garda Síochána will deal with any matters reported by complainants in a sensitive manner and will, where possible, progress matters through investigation.

Gardaí have acknowledged there may be limitations as to the action that could be taken in some cases, due to matters such as the unavailability of evidence over time or suspects and/or witnesses being deceased.

An Garda Síochána has been liaising with the PSNI on this matter since late 2025. An Garda Síochána has not received any direct complaints to date.
