Free Mattress Drop-Off Service Returns to Tramore Valley Park
Cork City Council's free mattress drop-off returns 5-6 August at Tramore Valley Park, 9am-3.30pm. Two-mattress limit per car applies.
Cork City Council will offer a free mattress drop-off service at the Civic Amenity Site in Tramore Valley Park on 5 and 6 August, giving residents another chance to dispose of unwanted mattresses at no cost.
The service will run from 9.00am to 3.30pm on both days. A two-mattress limit applies per car.
The council said the initiative helps reduce illegal dumping and supports responsible waste disposal. More than 300 mattresses were collected through the scheme last year.
Tony T. O'Sullivan, Environmental Senior Executive Engineer:
"The Mattress Amnesty is a great service for the public and has been very well supported in previous years. By offering this service free of charge, Cork City Council is helping residents dispose of unwanted mattresses safely and responsibly, while also supporting the circular economy. The collection of 300 mattresses last year shows the clear demand for this initiative and the positive impact it can have."
Members of the public are encouraged to avail of the service during the two-day window.
