A disqualified driver has been arrested in Kinsale after returning a breath alcohol reading more than 12 times the legal limit, following a report from a member of the public.
Gardaí in Kinsale arrested a disqualified driver on Saturday, 12 September 2026, following a report from a member of the public.
The driver returned an evidential breath reading of 112mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath, more than 12 times his applicable legal limit of 9mg.
The vehicle was also found to have no insurance, tax expired since March 2023, and NCT expired since January 2025.
The driver was charged to appear before the courts. Gardaí thanked the member of the public who reported the matter.
Gardaí added: never drink and drive, and anyone who suspects someone is driving under the influence should contact them.
