Did You Remember? Clocks Went Forward This Morning
Clocks went forward this morning. Your phone knew. Your microwave did not. One of them is your problem now.
If you are reading this wondering why everyone seems to be somewhere already, there is a good chance your clock is lying to you. Clocks moved forward by one hour at 1:00am this morning, and Irish Standard Time is now officially in effect.
Smartphones and most digital devices will have updated themselves overnight without any drama. The microwave, the car dashboard, and whatever is on the kitchen wall, however, have been quietly running an hour behind all morning and will continue to do so until someone deals with them. That someone is you.
The good news is that the evenings are now noticeably brighter, with an extra hour of daylight after work to look forward to. The less good news is that the hour is simply gone, and no amount of checking your phone will bring it back.
Irish Standard Time runs until the last Sunday of October, when the whole thing goes into reverse and everyone gets very excited about the extra hour in bed.
For now, go check your clocks, maybe grab an extra coffee, and enjoy the longer evenings.
