Cork County Council Welcomes Photography Exhibition Celebrating Crosshaven’s “Bádóirí” to Camden Fort Meagher

A new photographic exhibition celebrating the people of Crosshaven opens at Camden Fort Meagher on Monday 6 July 2026, offering visitors a unique look at the community through the lens of award winning local photographer Ted Murphy.

Cork County Council has welcomed the exhibition, titled Bádóirí (boat people), which opens on Monday 6 July 2026. The collection showcases photographs celebrating the lives and personalities of remarkable local individuals from the Crosshaven community, capturing the people whose presence and character have shaped the area's social and cultural fabric.

Cllr. Bernard Moynihan, Mayor of the County of Cork, welcomed the exhibition:

"I am delighted to welcome this exhibition to Camden Fort Meagher. Ted Murphy has captured something truly special in this collection. It is a fitting tribute to the unique characters of Crosshaven, and I encourage everyone to take the opportunity to visit and experience this remarkable body of work."

Ted Murphy, describing the exhibition, said:

"The exhibition celebrates the lives of local characters and personalities in Crosshaven. These are people whose individuality, stories and presence have shaped our community and whose like may never be seen again in this new digital era."

Set against the historic backdrop of Camden Fort Meagher, the exhibition gives visitors the chance to engage with both the heritage of the fort and the living history of the Crosshaven community.

Members of the public are warmly invited to attend the exhibition, which runs from Monday 6 July until the end of October 2026.
