Cork City Council Proposes 30km/h Speed Limits For Housing Estates And School Roads
Cork City Council has opened consultation on new 30km/h speed limits for housing estates, streets and school roads. Submissions close 21 September 2026.
Cork City Council is progressing Phase 2 of its proposed speed limit changes, covering the implementation of built-up and urban area speed limits across the city.
Under the proposals, speed limits would be reduced to 30km/h on all housing estate roads, residential streets, roads adjacent to schools, and roads in the urban area where there is significant and regular interaction with vulnerable road users.
