Casual Trading and Provision of Services Licence Applications Are Now Open in Carrigaline

Cork County Council is inviting small traders and service providers to apply for a licence to trade in Carrigaline.

Cork County Council has opened applications for Casual Trading and Casual Provision of Services Licences within the Carrigaline Municipal District.

This is the first opportunity for traders and service providers to apply for licences since the adoption of the Carrigaline Municipal District Casual Trading Bye-Laws 2025 and the Carrigaline Municipal District Casual Provision of Services Bye-Laws 2025, which came into effect in May 2026.

A Casual Trading Licence is required by any person wishing to sell goods from a temporary location in a public place. Applications will be assessed in accordance with the Carrigaline Municipal District Casual Trading Bye-Laws 2025, made under the Casual Trading Act 1995, as amended, and all other enabling statutory powers.

A Casual Provision of Services Licence is required where a service is being provided from a temporary location in a public place. Applications for Casual Provision of Services will be assessed in accordance with the Carrigaline Municipal District Casual Provision of Services Bye-Laws 2025, made under the Local Government Act 2001, as amended, and all other enabling statutory powers.

Application forms are available on Cork County Council's website or can be obtained from the Carrigaline Municipal District Office, Waterpark House, Old Church Road, Carrigaline.

Completed applications and all supporting documentation must be submitted by Friday 18 September 2026 to be considered for licensing for the 2026/2027 trading period.
