Met Éireann has issued a Yellow Rainfall Warning for Cork and six surrounding counties, effective from 11pm tomorrow night (Tuesday 17 February) until 11pm on Wednesday 18 February. The warning highlights risks of flooding, poor visibility, and difficult travelling conditions as rain falls on already saturated ground with elevated river levels.

The Status Yellow warning, issued at 3:20pm today (Monday 16 February), affects Cork, Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford, and Wicklow.

According to Met Éireann, rain falling on already saturated ground combined with high river levels will lead to flooding, poor visibility, and difficult travelling conditions across the affected regions.

The 24-hour warning window begins at 11pm on Tuesday night and remains in effect until 11pm on Wednesday evening. Cork residents are advised to monitor local conditions and stay informed through official weather updates during the warning period.
