Yellow Ice Warning Issued for CorK
Yellow ice warning issued for Cork and 28 counties, with frost and icy conditions expected from Friday night into Saturday morning. Take care on roads and footpaths.
A Status Yellow low temperature and ice warning has been issued by Met Éireann, with sharp frost and icy conditions forecast across much of the country from Friday night into Saturday morning.
The warning covers Cork and 28 other counties, with temperatures expected to fall generally between -1°C and -3°C. The cold spell is likely to result in widespread frost and icy surfaces, particularly overnight and in the early morning hours.
Under the warning, motorists and pedestrians are being advised to take extra care, as hazardous travel conditions are expected on roads and footpaths. Icy patches could lead to travel disruption, especially on untreated routes, rural roads, and shaded areas.
The Status Yellow alert applies to the following counties: Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leitrim, Laois, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow.
The warning was issued at 08:40 on Thursday 12 February 2026, and is due to come into effect from 21:00 on Friday 13 February, remaining valid until 10:00 on Saturday 14 February.
Road users are being urged to slow down, allow extra stopping distance, and remain alert for black ice, while pedestrians are advised to take care underfoot during the warning period.
