Witness Appeal: Fatal Motorcycle Collision Near Goleen, West Cork
Fatal collision near Goleen, West Cork: Gardaí appeal for witnesses and dash-cam footage following motorcycle crash on the R591 Dunmanus Road this morning.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred near Goleen, Co. Cork, on Wednesday 29th April 2026.
The single-vehicle collision took place off the R591 road between Dunmanus and Barleycove at approximately 11am, when a motorcycle collided with a pole. The rider, a man in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has since been removed, and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
The road off the R591, known locally as the Dunmanus Road/Coast Road to Barleycove, remains closed to facilitate an examination by Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí are asking any road users who were travelling in the area between 10:45am and 11:15am to come forward. Anyone with camera footage, including mobile phone or dash-cam recordings, is asked to make that footage available to investigators.
