⚠️ Weather Advisory Issued by Met Éireann
Met Éireann has issued a weather advisory for Cork and the wider Munster region, warning of unsettled and potentially stormy conditions over the Easter weekend.
The advisory warns of a mobile Atlantic flow bringing windy and mixed weather from Friday. Conditions may turn stormy in places later on Saturday, with the potential for severe or damaging west to southwest gusts.
Coastal flooding is considered likely, particularly around high tide times in exposed, low-lying locations along Atlantic coastal counties including Cork. Met Éireann has noted that high astronomical tides (Spring Tides) coinciding with storm surge and persistent onshore winds will further increase the risk. Strong onshore winds combined with high waves may also lead to wave overtopping in vulnerable coastal areas.
A High Tide Advisory will come into effect from Friday to Monday. Met Éireann has advised that further warnings are likely to be issued as the weekend approaches, and the public is urged to stay updated via the Met Éireann website, app, and social media channels.
