Water Supply Disruptions Expected in Cork Areas Due to Burst Main Repairs

Residents in Kilmoney, Carrigaline and surrounding areas of County Cork may experience water supply disruptions today as Uisce Éireann carries out emergency repairs to a burst water main.

The Irish water utility company has confirmed that repair works are scheduled to continue until 5pm this evening, Friday 23 May. A traffic management plan has been implemented for the duration of the works to manage any road disruptions caused by the repair activities.

Uisce Éireann is advising affected customers to allow an additional three to four hours after the estimated restoration time for their water supply to return to normal levels. This additional time accounts for the system to fully repressurised and for water quality to stabilise following the completion of repairs.

The company has provided reference number COR00093404 for residents who wish to check for updates on the repair progress. Customers can enter this reference number into the search function on the Uisce Éireann website or customer service system.

Areas likely to be affected include residential and commercial properties in Kilmoney and Carrigaline, along with surrounding townlands in the region. The extent of the disruption will depend on the location of individual properties relative to the damaged main and the local water distribution network.

Uisce Éireann typically recommends that households store water in advance when possible during planned works, though the emergency nature of this repair may not have allowed for advance notice to all customers.
