Water Supply Disruption Tonight for Blackpool and Surrounding Cork Areas
Blackpool water supply disrupted tonight 10:30pm-2:30am for emergency repairs.

Uisce Éireann will carry out emergency repairs to a burst water main in Blackpool tonight, causing supply disruptions from 10:30pm until 2:30am on Wednesday morning.
The repair works follow a water main burst that occurred on Monday evening. Homes and businesses in several Cork City areas will be affected during the four-hour maintenance window.
Affected locations include Redemption Road, Farrenferris Avenue, Pophams Road, Fairfield Avenue, Blackpool Shopping Centre, Parklands and surrounding areas. Residents may experience low water pressure, temporary water discolouration or intermittent supply disruptions.
James Goulding, Water Operations Lead for Uisce Éireann:
"We acknowledge the inconvenience caused by an outage and assure affected customers that crews will complete the works as quickly as possible to restore normal water supply in the early hours of Wednesday morning."
If tap water appears discoloured after repairs, residents should run the cold kitchen tap for up to 20 minutes to restore clarity. The water remains safe to drink once running clear. Normal supply typically returns within two to three hours following repairs, though customers on higher ground or at the network's end may experience longer delays.
Anyone experiencing persistent issues can contact Uisce Éireann's 24/7 customer care helpline on 1800 278 278. Real-time updates are available on water.ie and on X @IWCare.
Vulnerable customers registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. Customers can also sign up for free text updates using their Eircode and mobile number on the water.ie website.
