Water Supply Disruption in Cobh Following Burst Main

Uisce Éireann crews are working to restore water supply to homes and businesses across Cobh and surrounding areas following a burst water main.

The burst has impacted supply to customers in Lissanisky, Marian Terrace, Carrigaloe, Rushbrooke Links, Riverside Estate, Bunker Hill, Tay Road, and other parts of Cobh.

Expert water services crews are currently on site carrying out necessary repairs and expect to complete works by 5pm this afternoon, Thursday 05 February.

Following completion of repairs, it typically takes three to four hours for normal supply to be restored to all affected customers. However, residents at the end of the network or on higher ground may experience longer delays as the system recharges.

Michael Bell, Network Operations Manager for Uisce Éireann, said:

"We understand the inconvenience that unplanned outages can have and would like to assure customers that we are doing everything we can to restore the water supply as quickly as possible."

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. Registration is available on the Uisce Éireann website.
