Water Supply Disruption in Bantry Following Burst Main

Uisce Éireann crews are working to restore water supply to homes and businesses in Bantry following a burst water main in the town this morning, Thursday, 18 December.

The burst has impacted water supply to customers in Wolfe Tone Park, Glengarriff Road, Snave and surrounding areas of Bantry.

Expert water services crews have been dispatched to the site, with repair works expected to be completed by 5pm this afternoon.

Once repairs are finished, it typically takes three to four hours for normal supply to be restored to all affected customers. However, customers at the end of the network or on higher ground may experience longer delays as the system recharges.

Niall O'Riordan, Operations Manager for Uisce Éireann, said: "We understand the inconvenience that unplanned outages can have and would like to assure customers that we are doing everything we can to restore the water supply as quickly as possible."

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. Registration is available on the Vulnerable Customers page.
