Water Outage Affects Meelin, Lismire and Tullylease – Repairs Ongoing

Uisce Éireann crews are continuing work to restore normal water supplies to Meelin, Lismire, Tullylease and surrounding areas in north Cork, where customers are currently experiencing no water or low pressure.

Repair works are expected to continue into tomorrow morning, Saturday 16 August, with Uisce Éireann advising that it may take several hours for full supply to return to all affected properties once works are complete.

To assist customers during the outage, alternative water supply tankers will be in place from 11:00am on Saturday at the GAA pitches in Meelin, Lismire and Tullylease. Customers using these tankers are reminded to bring their own clean containers.

Michael Bell of Uisce Éireann said crews were working as quickly as possible to resolve the problem:

“We understand the inconvenience that unplanned outages can have. Crews have been mobilised to address this unplanned outage and we wish to thank customers in the area for their patience while the works are underway.”

Vulnerable customers registered with Uisce Éireann are contacted directly for any planned or unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. Those wishing to register as a vulnerable customer, or nominate an alternative contact, can do so via water.ie/vulnerablecustomer.
