Minister for Health and HSE Call for Clear Access to Medical Facilities Amid Fuel Protests

The Minister for Health and the CEO of the Health Service Executive have jointly called for all approaches to medical facilities to be kept clear, as fuel protest disruption continues to impact roads across the country.

Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill TD and HSE CEO Anne O'Connor issued a joint statement today calling for unobstructed access to hospitals and community health services for emergency vehicles, patients, and staff.

The statement called for clear access for staff working in hospitals as well as those treating people in their homes or in community settings.

"Attending hospital or receiving treatment in the community, whether in an emergency situation or for a routine appointment, is a vulnerable time for a patient and their family," the statement read. "Please respect the critical need for clear and safe access to all healthcare services, to ensure that access to care is never compromised."
