Uisce Éireann to Replace Water Mains in Baltimore

Uisce Éireann is set to begin a water mains replacement project in Baltimore, aimed at improving supply reliability for the local community.

Crews will install 290 metres of new pipework along Beacon Road, Baltimore, replacing existing pipes that had been prone to bursts and leaks. The works will also include installing new water service connections from the public main to customers' property boundaries.

The existing infrastructure had been causing supply interruptions and the loss of treated drinking water. The upgraded pipes are expected to strengthen the local network and reduce disruption to homes and businesses.

Jack Cronin, Uisce Éireann, said:

"Every pipe we replace is guided by one clear goal: providing a water supply people can count on. These improvements make a difference every single day, in every tap, home and throughout the community. By focusing on delivering a more reliable supply, we're helping to build a stronger, more resilient water service for the people of Baltimore, now and for generations to come."

Works are due to begin in mid-April, with completion expected in May 2026. The project is being delivered by Ward and Burke Construction Ltd. on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
