Trinity Bridge to Close to Pedestrians from 27 April for Morrison's Island Works

Trinity Bridge will close to pedestrians from Monday, 27 April until late summer as part of the Morrison's Island Public Realm and Flood Defence Scheme.

Cork City Council has confirmed that upgrade works to the bridge will include pier repairs, widening of the bridge, and the installation of high specification timber decking. A new riverside boardwalk will also be constructed along Union Quay.

Pedestrians wishing to cross the south channel of the river during this time are asked to use either Parliament Bridge or Parnell Bridge.

The works also require the closure of a section of Union Quay to traffic from Monday, 27 April. The affected section runs from the junction of Copley Street to the junction with South Terrace.

Vehicular access to Georges Quay will be via South Terrace. Motorists are asked to follow diversion signage and to plan their journeys accordingly.

The remainder of Union Quay will remain open as usual.

Cork City Council apologised for the inconvenience and thanked the public for their patience while the project is completed.
