Third Arrest Made in Doneraile Death Investigation

Gardaí have arrested a third person in connection with the death of a man in his 40s whose body was discovered in the early hours of Sunday morning in Doneraile, Co. Cork. A teenage juvenile is now being questioned alongside two other males who were arrested earlier today, as the investigation continues.

The body of the man was discovered at Rockview Terrace, Doneraile in the early hours of Sunday, 12th October 2025. Gardaí in Mallow immediately launched an investigation into all circumstances surrounding his death.

A post-mortem examination has been completed at Cork University Hospital. However, An Garda Síochána has confirmed the results are not being released for operational reasons.

This morning, Monday 13th October, Gardaí arrested two males: one in his 20s and a juvenile in his late teens. Both were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Garda stations in County Cork.

Later today, a third male, also a juvenile in his teens, was arrested and is currently being detained under the same legislation at a Garda station in Co. Cork. All three arrested males remain in Garda custody.

A senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation, with an incident room established at Mallow Garda Station. A family liaison officer has been assigned to support the deceased man's family.

The Garda Technical Bureau attended the scene, and Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margot Bolster was contacted to examine the body.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses who were in the vicinity of Doneraile village between midnight and 2am on Sunday morning, 12th October 2025. Investigators are particularly seeking any camera footage, including dashcam recordings, from the area during this timeframe.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Mallow Garda Station on 022 31450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
