Storm Boelo: Wet and Windy Saturday Forecast for Munster as Marine Warnings Issued for All Irish Coasts

Met Éireann is forecasting a wet and windy Saturday for Munster, with spot flooding possible. A Yellow marine gale warning and a small craft warning are also in place for all coasts of Ireland.

The Munster forecast, issued at 05:30 on Friday 23 October, says Saturday morning will be rather wet and windy, with rain and fresh to strong, gusty southerly winds. Winds will reach near gale force or gale force near coasts. The rain will be heavy at times, with spot flooding possible.

A clearance to blustery showers will follow through the afternoon, as winds veer southwest to west and increase strong to near gale force and gusty. This is as Storm Boelo tracks to the north of the country. Highest temperatures will be 13 to 15 degrees.

The Yellow marine gale warning covers all coasts of Ireland and the Irish Sea. It is valid from 04:00 on Saturday 24 October until 22:00 on Sunday 25 October. Met Éireann states that southerly winds, veering westerly, will reach gale force 8 or higher at times.

A separate small craft warning applies to all coasts of Ireland. It is valid from 00:00 on Saturday 24 October until 04:00 on Monday 26 October. Southerly winds, veering westerly, will reach force 6 or higher at times.
