Status Yellow Low Temperature and Ice Warning Issued for Cork
Status Yellow ice warning for Cork from 6pm Saturday to 11am Sunday. Temperatures dropping to -4C with frost and icy stretches.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow low temperature and ice warning for Cork and 16 other counties, with hazardous travel conditions expected from Saturday evening into Sunday morning.
The warning comes into effect at 6pm on Saturday 3 January and remains valid until 11am on Sunday 4 January. Temperatures are forecast to fall to between -2 and -4 degrees across many areas, bringing sharp or severe frost and icy stretches.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution, particularly on untreated roads and during early morning hours when ice is most likely to form. Pedestrians should also take care on footpaths and other surfaces that may become slippery.
The affected counties are Carlow, Clare, Cork, Dublin, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Limerick, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath, Wexford, and Wicklow.
The warning was issued at 11:32am on Friday 2 January.
