Status Yellow Fog Warning Issued for Cork This Morning

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow fog warning for Cork and 16 other counties, warning of dense fog or freezing fog that could create hazardous travelling conditions until mid-morning.

The warning came into effect at 05:15 this morning and will remain valid until 10:00, affecting areas across Munster, Leinster, and Connacht.

Cork is among the counties expected to experience areas of dense fog or freezing fog, which Met Éireann warns could lead to impaired visibility and hazardous travelling conditions during the Sunday morning period.

The warning also covers Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Clare, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford, Galway, Leitrim, and Roscommon.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution on the roads this morning, allow extra time for journeys, and use dipped headlights in foggy conditions. Drivers should maintain a safe distance from other vehicles and reduce speed where visibility is reduced.

The fog is expected to clear by mid-morning as temperatures rise.
