Serious Collision on N25 at Dunsfort Closes Road for Investigation

A man in his twenties has been hospitalised with serious injuries following a collision with a car on the N25 at Dunsfort, Midleton, late last night. The incident has prompted road closures and a Garda appeal for witnesses.
The collision between a pedestrian and a car occurred at approximately 11:05pm on Thursday, 14th August 2025, on the N25 at Dunsfort. Gardaí and emergency services responded to the scene immediately following reports of the incident.
The male pedestrian, aged in his twenties, was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment. While his injuries are described as serious, they are believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
The N25 at Dunsfort remains closed this morning as Garda forensic collision investigators carry out a technical examination of the scene. Local diversions have been put in place, and motorists are advised to expect delays in the area and to plan alternative routes where possible.
Gardaí are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward to assist with their investigation. They are particularly interested in speaking with road users who were in the Dunsfort area of Midleton between 10:45pm and 11:15pm last night.
Anyone with camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, from the area during this timeframe is asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
