The newly installed bridge is a 4m-wide pedestrian and cycle bridge with a span of 26.4m. It crosses the Butlerstown River, creating a new link between John O'Callaghan Park and the former Riverstown FC lands.

Cork City Council confirmed the bridge was lifted into place last week, describing it as "a fantastic new connection for the area" and "another key milestone in the delivery of the Glanmire Greenway."

The project involves two pedestrian and cycle bridges and represents an investment of approximately €5m. The council has indicated that further updates are to come as work on the greenway progresses.
