Road Closures and Traffic Plan for Cork v Tipperary at Páirc Uí Chaoimh Tomorrow

An Garda Síochána has issued a detailed traffic management plan ahead of tomorrow's Cork v Tipperary hurling match at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday, 7 February 2026, with an expected attendance of 25,000 to 30,000. Several roads around the stadium will be closed from 3:00pm, with further closures from 4:00pm, and all roads expected to reopen by approximately 9:30pm.

Road Closures from 3:00pm

The following roads will close from 3:00pm, with access for residents only where noted:

Ardfoyle Avenue (residents only), Park Avenue (residents only), Maryville/Blackrock Road (residents only), Monahan's Road/Marquee Road, Centre Park Road/Marquee Road, Boreenmanna Road/Churchyard Lane (residents only), Blackrock Road/Churchyard Lane (residents only), Boreenmanna Road/Crab Lane (residents only), and Blackrock Road/Crab Lane (residents only).

Road Closures from 4:00pm

Centre Park Road at Victoria Road Roundabout and Monahan Road at the Victoria Road Junction (Circle-K) will also close from 4:00pm.

All closures are expected to be lifted by approximately 9:30pm. Gardaí are asking drivers to be mindful of large volumes of pedestrians exiting the stadium between 9:00pm and 9:30pm.

Getting to the Stadium

On foot, the stadium is a 15-minute walk from the city centre via Centre Park Road and Monahan Road. It can also be reached from Boreenmanna Road via Churchyard Lane, Blackrock Road, and Maryville, a walk of approximately 10 minutes. Note that due to current roadworks on Maryville, there will be no vehicular access through this route.

By bus, the 202 Holyhill to Mahon Point route departs Merchant's Quay approximately every 20 minutes and travels via Blackrock Road, with stops in Ballintemple just a two-minute walk from the stadium via Maryville. The 212 Kent Station to Mahon Point route departs Kent Station every hour on the half hour and will divert via Blackrock Road, stopping across from Longboats Pub, also a two-minute walk to the stadium.

Driving and Parking

Those travelling from the west should use the South Ring Road (N40), taking the Mahon/Blackrock exit at Junction 10, then left onto Skehard Road toward Boreenmanna Road. Supporters coming from the east via the Jack Lynch Tunnel (N40) should follow the same route from Junction 10.

Those travelling from the north via the N20 are advised to park in the city centre and walk to the stadium or use public transport. Supporters from Midleton, Glounthaune, and Little Island may also wish to consider using train and bus links from those areas, where free parking is available.

Parking will be available in city centre car parks, but there is very limited parking in the areas adjacent to the stadium. Gardaí have warned that vehicles parked illegally will be dealt with, and supporters should not block entrances to housing estates, business premises, or parks; block or park on footpaths; park in disabled spaces or bus stops; or park in areas that may restrict access for emergency services.

Buses, Drop-off, and After the Match

Coaches and buses are advised to park on Boreenmanna Road, faced for the South City Link Road for post-match egress. The taxi drop-off area is on Marquee Road at the Monahan Road junction, available up to 6:30pm. All other large public service vehicles should set down and pick up on Boreenmanna Road near the Maxol filling station.

After the match, Gardaí are asking everyone to follow the direction of Gardaí and stewards. Tipperary and north/east Cork supporters are strongly advised to use the Jack Lynch Tunnel for travel home. Limited traffic will be allowed through the city, with priority given to dispersing traffic onto main routes heading away from the city. With up to 30,000 expected, patience will be needed when leaving the stadium and its environs.
