Revenue seized €352,000 in contraband nationwide last week, including drugs, fake designer goods and weapons accessories, in parcels that could have reached Cork.

Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €352,000 during operations in Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort over the week commencing 30 March 2026.

The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence-led operations.

Seized items included 150 counterfeit goods valued at over €164,300, 7.3kg of herbal cannabis valued at over €145,200, tobacco products valued at over €33,400 representing a potential Exchequer loss of over €26,200, 528g of cannabis resin valued at over €3,170, and various other illicit drugs valued at over €4,300.

The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were assisted by detector dogs Ciara and Sam. The parcels originated from the United States, New Zealand, Canada, Thailand, and Germany, and were destined for various addresses nationwide, which could include Cork.

Among the tobacco seized were 25,580 cigarettes discovered at Dublin Airport on 5 April 2026 within the baggage of a man aged in his 40s who had disembarked a flight from Germany. Those cigarettes were valued at an estimated €23,700, representing a potential Exchequer loss of €18,900.

Counterfeit goods were confirmed by rights holders to have infringed intellectual property rights. Sixteen weapons accessories were also seized, comprising three Ruger MKIV .22LR magazines, pepper spray, flares, and a pair of steel nun-chucks.

The various illicit drugs consisted of butane honey oil, cannabis oil, cocaine, edibles, cannabinoid vape liquids, synthetic cannabinoids, psilocybin truffles, N-Ethylexedrone Hydrochloride, 1CP-LSD, and assorted tablets including Zopiclone and Tapenadol [sic].

Counterfeit brands identified included Moncler, Hugo Boss, Christian Dior, Polo Ralph Lauren, Adidas, Castor, Louis Vuitton, Nike, New Balance, Hoka, Tommy Hilfiger, Fear of God, Lacoste, Stussy, O'Neill's, Oakley, Yves St Laurent, Alayia, Alo, Hermes, and Rolex, among others.
