Revenue seizes over €314,000 worth of drugs, counterfeit goods, tobacco and alcohol in week-long operations across Dublin, Midlands, Kilkenny and Rosslare.

Revenue officers have seized contraband worth more than €314,400 in a series of intelligence-led operations across Dublin, the Midlands, Kilkenny and Rosslare Europort over the past week.

The operations, which commenced on 20 October 2025, resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of illegal drugs, tobacco products, alcohol, counterfeit goods, weapons and cash.

Among the haul was 7.45kg of herbal cannabis valued at almost €150,000, alongside synthetic cannabinoids worth over €35,750 and 2,940 assorted tablets valued at €5,840. Various other illicit drugs worth over €1,500 were also seized, including butane honey oil, cannabis oil, edibles, hemp, amphetamine and cannabinoid vapes.

The drug seizures were made through risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dogs Ciara and Sam. The parcels originated from the USA, UK, India, Thailand and Canada, and were destined for various addresses nationwide.

Revenue officers also seized tobacco products worth almost €23,900, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of almost €18,750. The haul included Benson & Hedges Gold, Rothmans Purple, Silk Cut Purple, Mayfair, Marlboro Red and Marlboro Gold cigarettes.

Over 885 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of over €12,760 were intercepted, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €8,140. The alcohol consisted of wine, beer, spirits and unlabelled unidentified spirits.

Officers seized 144 counterfeit items valued at almost €80,200, which the rights holder confirmed had infringed on intellectual property rights. The fake goods included items purporting to be from Rolex, Nike, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Canada Goose, Adidas, Christian Dior and Chanel, among other brands.

Sixteen weapons were also seized, consisting of five smoke bombs, four airsoft firearms including replicas of an AR15, MP7A1, M4 and two Glocks, an airsoft grenade, scopes and magazines.

Cash totalling €5,320 and £165 sterling was seized during the operations. At a sitting of Wexford District Court, Judge John Cheatle granted an application for a three-month detention order regarding the cash.

Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
