Revenue Seizes Over €236,000 in Contraband Across Multiple Irish Locations
Revenue seizes over €236k in contraband nationwide, including drugs and counterfeit goods destined for Cork addresses.
Revenue officers have seized contraband with an estimated value of over €236,170 in operations across Dublin, Dublin Airport, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort over the past week.
The detections, made between 19 and 28 January 2026, resulted from risk profiling and intelligence-led operations conducted by Revenue officers.
The seizures included 7.637kg of herbal cannabis valued at over €152,770, 2,820 assorted tablets worth €5,500, and 425.42g of cannabis resin valued at over €2,550. Various other illicit drugs with an estimated value of over €2,670 were also recovered.
Tobacco products worth over €15,400 were seized, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €11,500. Officers also confiscated more than 115.9 litres of alcohol valued at almost €1,430, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €850.

Revenue officers seized 161 counterfeit items with an estimated value of over €55,850, later confirmed by rights holders to have infringed intellectual property rights. Sixteen weapons and weapon accessories were also confiscated.
The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made through risk profiling with assistance from detector dogs Sam and Ciara. The parcels originated in the US, Canada, and France and were destined for various addresses nationwide, including locations in Cork.
On 24 January 2026, Revenue officers discovered 15kg of Amber Leaf tobacco in the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight from Morocco at Dublin Airport. The tobacco has an estimated retail value of almost €12,370, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €9,290.
The alcohol consisted of wine, beer, and spirits. Tobacco products included Amber Leaf, Terea, Neo tobacco sticks, and shisha. The various illicit drugs included cannabis oil, edibles, magic mushrooms, reefers, and cannabinoid vape liquids. The seized tablets included Alprazolam, Benzodiazepine, Diazepam, and Zopiclone.

The counterfeit goods included items branded as The North Face, Ralph Lauren, Christian Dior, Canada Goose, Polo, Moncler, Burberry, Bottega Veneta, Stone Island, Adidas, Nike, Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, Coach, Fear of God, ON Cloud, Gucci, Chanel, New Balance, O'Neills, Ugg, Lululemon, Umbro, Kappa, Puma, Castore, Ray-Ban, and Travis Scott Air Jordans.
The seventeen weapons consisted of MDT-104447-BLK accessory magazine plastic, MDT-105026-BLK accessory magazine plastic, hand flares, smoke bombs, and a samurai sword.
Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
