Revenue Seize Over €111,900 In Contraband, Including Drug Parcels Destined For Addresses Nationwide
Parcels of cannabis and other drugs destined for addresses nationwide, which could include Cork, were among over €111,900 in contraband seized by Revenue.
Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €111,900 in various operations in Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort over the past week, commencing 17 August 2026. Parcels containing herbal cannabis and other illicit drugs were destined for various addresses nationwide, which could include Cork.
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence-led operations. The seizures included 2.6kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of over €52,600, 135 counterfeit items with an estimated value of over €25,300, and various tablets with an estimated value of over €13,300.
Tobacco products with an estimated value of over €9,100 were also seized, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €6,900, along with various other illicit drugs with an estimated value of over €9,000.
The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dogs Sam and Ciara. The parcels originated in the USA, the UK, France, India and Canada, and were destined for various addresses nationwide.
The tablets consisted of Alprazalam, Diazepam, Tapentadol, Zolpidem, 2C-B and Zopiclone, while the various other illicit drugs consisted of Reefers, Edibles, Ketamine, Cannabinol, Cannabidiol, Ice Rock, Cannabinoid Vape Liquids, Nitrous Oxide, CBD Oil, Cannabis Resin, Cannabis Oil, Heroin and LSD.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights. The items were branded Adidas, Alo, Asics, Balmain, Birkenstock, Boss, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Cartier, Chanel, Coach, Dior, Fear of God, Goden Goose, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Moncler, New Balance, Nike, On Cloud, Polo, Ralph Lauren, Saint Laurent, Tommy, Uggs and Under Armour.
Fifty-one weapons accessories were also seized, which included assorted knives, batons, airguns, slingshots, a tactical pen and laser pointer.
The tobacco products were branded Winston, L&M Blue, Hookah, Marlboro, Hongtashan, Nanjing, Djarum, Momo Zarda, Old Holborn, Heets, Silk Cut Purple, Amber Leaf, Benson and Hedges, Golden Virginia, Davidoff Gold SL-Line and John Player Blue.
Investigations into all seizures are ongoing. These seizures are in addition to a separate seizure of herbal cannabis and shisha tobacco valued at approximately €484,400, announced by Revenue on 19 August 2026.
